We live in a society which thrives on interdependence. It gives a lot to us – recognition, respect, means and reasons to survive, shares our joys and sorrows and lives with us. We take so much from it but give too little in return. We, as responsible parts of the whole must realize that this society shall remain alive as long as there is someone to think about it and serve it, lest it should wither away from being neglected. We do not need to spend fortunes or to give away a lot of our precious time in order to contribute to the welfare of our society. Just few small and easy steps in the right direction can solve our problems which have been prevalent for so long. Here are those Top 10 Ways To Help Society On A Personal Level.

Helping the society on the personal front can at best begin with spreading education and propagating the need of literacy in today’s scenario. If only each one of us could vow to take up the responsibility of  just any one child we could see on the roads or could motivate at least one child to go to the school and help him or her in studies, it would be no less than the role of a guardian angel for them. Not every child in our country is privileged enough to go to a good school and receive quality education. Our one correct step in the right direction can change their lives for the better.

9. CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS

Littering just comes to us naturally, as if the clean roads are unacceptable to the eye. We flinch from walking that extra step to drop our trash into the dustbins and so, convenience takes over when we drop that wrapper or fruit peels right onto the roads. We end up viewing everything outside the premises of our own houses as the litter boxes. As responsible citizens of our society and country we need to understand the high amount of visual pollution we cause by keeping our surroundings dirty. We  must encourage use of dustbins and must avoid littering the roads. Keeping the surroundings clean will give a healthy and aesthetically beautiful environment to our society.

This can work only if we learn to stay together, stick together and empathize with each other by being there in times of each others needs.

Laws have been formulated to protect our rights and to enforce our responsibilities but they are powerless if we surrender our faith in them. It is not the duty of only the judiciary to take care of the implementation of laws. We the people are equally responsible for protecting, following and respecting the laws that have been put in place. The basic logic is simple  – if we do not break laws, there would be no crimes and no suffering! The path to utopian world seems so simple and yet far reaching. All we need to comply to is that we ourselves are our protectors, we ourselves are the guardians of our laws.

Donating our essential organs such as eyes can give a vision to two blind people. We may die one day but we can remain alive though their eyes and sense. We often talk about it, read about and and may even be left to think about it but very few of us actually take that initiative to take a step in the right direction.
