India is the country with a lot of diversity and a lot of tradition. The country is famous for its culture and festivals. But these days, all we read in a newspaper is about some terrorist attack, or some rape case. This makes us insecure about the place where we live in. By studying the past record of the cities, we have derived a list of the top 10 safest cities in the country. The ASICS, which stands for the Annual Survey of India’s City Systems, judges the cities in India on the criteria of crime and safety along with cleanliness, pollution, clean water, bureaucracy, etc. Then the ASICS produced a list of ranks for the cities. This list along with other information by other researches, we made the following list.

The capital of the country is not that safe as it should be and holds the tenth position on the list. The capital of India is very populous and given the population that big, the crimes are more likely to occur. Political fights and arguments are the main difference between a capital city and others. All sorts of political riots and a lot of terrorist attacks are faced by the city in the past days. The city also has the highest number of rape cases registered in the court which makes it a little less safe for women. But overall, the city is the heart of the country.

Jaipur is popular as the ‘pink city’ of India. The Jaipur houses a large number of monuments that reflect the kingships of the past rulers. The traditional Rajasthan can be seen in Jaipur. Due to this, it is one of the most popular tourist places in the country. Jaipur is a center for the modern industries as well as traditional ones. The Jewellery work done by the Jaipur locals have no match in the world and Jaipur is the largest exporter of all the jewels, diamonds and gold in the whole Asia.

This attracted a large number of global as well as Indian companies to start up their offices in the city. It is, thus, an ideal place for the IT sector after Bangalore. Hyderabad is known as “India’s Pharmaceutical Capital” which is because there was an emergence of both, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in the 1990s.

Bangalore has also made it on the list of the 10 cities which are most preferred entrepreneurial locations in the whole world. This city is the 4th highest contributor to the country’s overall GDP. In safety, housing and economic environmental aspects, Bangalore is one of the most preferred cities of India. In terms of education, it stands 3rd in India.

Kolkata was known as Calcutta. This was the first capital of India, before Delhi, during the British rule. The city maintains the same richness and is ranked 6th in terms of the safety and other quality of city systems. Among the metro cities of India, Kolkata is the 3rd most populated city in India. This city of West Bengal is rich with culture and is a very nice city to live in. The city is having a problem with the over-population part but still is safe from any major crimes. In spite of the population, women are safe in the city because here they are respected a lot and are worshipped.

Pune is the fifth city in terms of safety and security. In the context of the quality of life, it stands second. The city is popular for the educational facilities of the city are exceptionally good. The main industry developing in the city is the IT section. The job opportunities here are the reason why there a lot of students and migrants from every corner of the country as well as abroad.

Chennai, previously known as Madras, is the third safest city in India. On the basis of the quality of life, it is ranked 4th. It has gained the nickname “Cultural capital of South India”. The Institute of Competitiveness chooses Chennai as the best city to live in India. It is the main economic, cultural, educational, and commercial center of South India. Among the metropolitan areas of the country, Chennai is the 4th most populous city and 2nd largest exporter of IT (Information Technology) and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) services. A large part of the country’s automobile industry is from Chennai. The economy of Chennai comes from automobiles, computer, hardware manufacture, technology and health care services.

Ahmedabad is the second safest city in India. It scored second position on the list of safest cities of India. On the basis of quality of life, it stands at the third place. In terms of the area and size of the city, Ahmedabad is the fifth largest among all the cities in India and in terms of metropolitan areas, it is ranked 7th. The textile industry of Ahmedabad is the biggest in India. The city is thus known as ‘Manchester of the East’. The survey conducted by the Times of India chooses Ahmedabad as the best city in the country to live. The crimes, robberies and rapes are very few as compared to the other cities.

Surat tops the list in which the cities were ranked according to the crime and safety division. Also in the quality of life and the quality of the systems in the city, Surat holds the first position. Surat is situated on the south of Gujarat. It is popular in the world as the diamond capital of the globe. It has received the award named the “Best urban city of India”. It has also received the award for the “third cleanest city in India” in the year 2011. Surat is a very well developed metropolis of Gujarat. The textile industry of Surat is the second largest in India and Diamond industry is the largest in the world.

    I barely think this is true. delhi?! seriously?! its one step away from becoming the most dangerous place on earth. The number of rape cases is unprecedented. Coming to mumbai. 40 percent episodes of crime patrol are of crimes in mumbai. this list seems more sarcastic than true.

    I guess the content writer is doing picking up the names randomly or she does not reads newspaper or watches news.

    If you wanna live safely,try Sikkim,there are some thefts but rarely but no acid attack,rapes have ever been recorded (from my birth date till now.)
