10 Ways to Increase Metabolism

There are times when I witness my friends, who are a bunch of gluttons, eating like monsters and drinking like maniacs. Watching them having that kind of a lifestyle, I wonder, what magic potion are they also consuming to avoid a fat tummy? So, the magic potion is a genetic wonder called a fast metabolism rate. Basically, Metabolism is a process where chemical reactions occur in living organisms, which also includes digestion. If a person has a high metabolism rate then they are blessed with a good thin physique. On the other hand, those with a slow metabolism rate have a physique that one does not wish to have. Coming back to the story, I promised myself that I want to have a good physique. So, after intense research I stumbled upon certain methods that will help me achieve a high metabolism rate. Now, after disciplining myself and following those methods I have attained a desirable physique. Well, I have taken a responsibility to share these methods so that others can attain similar resolutions as mine.

10. Drink Water

Certain Gym instructors suggest to drink less of water to attain those 6 pack abs. Listening to their advice is like making Bin Laden your messiah. Anyway, studies suggest that the above mentioned fact is feckless. It also proclaims that drinking a good amount of water daily is good for your health. And guess what? It also helps in increasing your metabolic rate as well. Water to us is like what petrol is to a car. Even if you try something else to work on your metabolism increment, it will be utterly futile. So, gift yourself everyday many bottles of water and gulp them like you’re going to attain the fountain of eternity.

Well, sometimes people might recommend having certain A or a certain B or a certain infinite type kind of tablets to enhance your metabolic rate. Tablets are good but not any kind eh? Then suddenly, dad came into my life and offered me a precious box stating “Magic Metabolic Tablets”. I opened the box immediately and found a box of Omega 3 tablets. I asked dad” how does this help?” Then he told me the truth saying “Omega 3 balance blood sugar and reduce inflammation, helping to regulate metabolism.” He added “it also reduces resistance to hormone leptin, thus leading to fast burning of fat.” That very moment I gulped down 2 tablets and since then Omega 3 has been really kind to me.

In life, mostly, we want everything instantly. Instant results are required or else try something else till you find a prominent solution to your needs. I was trying to just about anything to lose fat. But, sadly, everything was resulting in vain. I went to dad and made a baby face and before I could say anything he said “drink this”. I drank and it tasted really good. I asked “what is this?” He replied “Green Tea” before I can ask something again he gave me a sheet which read: This has a chemical called catechin which enhances metabolism. It improves fat oxidation, your body’s production of energy or heat, from digestion.” Since then, Green Tea has also been real kind to me.

I sleep late and my mom dislikes that.  So one day, while arguing with mom, dad came, again to the rescue, saying “son, listen to her. I read from a prominent source that a good sleep is good for your increment in metabolism rate. Stats says that those who sleep 5 hours or less are 32 percent more likely to gain weight and 15 percent more likely to be obese than those who get 7 hours sleep at least. So son, now you know the stats. Now the ball is in your court. Goodnight.”  From that day I have obeyed my mother’s wish and again, sleep has been real kind to me.

My dad knows my state perfectly. Few years back, he challenged me to have good food since I had joined the gym. I accepted keeping my ego intact. The first few weeks were tough as my body resisted the shift in the food pattern. But, after that I felt good about myself and my body felt good. Then dad explained “I gave you food that had a lot of protein. It was necessary because it gives metabolism a big jump. Since protein is hard to digest, so body uses a lot of energy to burn them and absorbing the nutrients.” This put a huge smile on my face. Good News:  One recent study from Purdue University found that diets higher in protein may help preserve lean body mass, which is the best fat-burner of all.

One day, I was eating donuts and my dad scolded me. After making an expression of being in oblivion, he explained “this trans fat will cause hindrance to your aim. Trans fats alter your biochemistry. It latches itself to fat and liver cells thus hampering your metabolism. It also leads to insulin resistance and creates inflammation thus, you gain unwanted weight.” After that avoiding Trans fat food has been really kind to me.

Since I’ve joined the gym, my mother has ensured the fact that I get a good breakfast. Whenever I wake up, I eat an oatmeal stuffed with almonds or omelette with toasted whole grain bread. Here, my mother educated me, saying that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it ignites the engine of the body early in the day. Thus, it keeps the body active throughout the day, helping your metabolism achieve its peak. So, never skip a breakfast in life ever again.” Since then breakfast has been real kind to me.

So I heard about this diet where you have food in every 18 hours to loosen that fat. So, I had food at 8 in the morning then 2 during the evening then directly 8 the next morning. This time my mother caught me and gave me a thrashing of a lifetime. While shouting at me this is what all I could gather “you’re not supposed to cut on so much of those calories in a fanatic manner. Your body will think that you’re already lean and since it’s not being feed, it will try to conserve energy and hence dampen your entire metabolism. Your body needs energy to enhance your metabolism.” This is what I could gather but what all she said was true. Thus, following her advice has been really kind to me.

This is what my gym trainer told me “you need to build muscles. Your body has been so idle that it conserves all the energy. You require intense weight training so that your body can produce enough energy to activate that metabolism of yours. As a bonus your muscles will be built. As per your wish as well, you will burn enough calories and will attain a lean figure. Remember, do intense weight training exercises to shed that fat.

My gym trainer told me to do the following and without any questions I just following his orders quietly. He told me to the following: Exercise for 5 minutes at 3.5 mph. Increase your speed to 4 mph for 60 seconds. Then go back down to 3.5 mph for 90 seconds. Repeat the entire sequence 5 times, twice a week. Then my gym trainer explained why this exercise is so beneficial, saying “it will help you consume more oxygen thus, making the cells of your body a powerhouse, resulting your fat being burnt at a drastic rate.” Since then, doing these exercises twice a week has been really kind to me.
