Summer Vacation is the ideal time for children who feel so burdened under the heavy weight of school routine. It brings about refreshing change with so much in store for kids to learn and enjoy. It is their leisure time when they do not wish to study but they are all enthusiastic about learning more about their own hobbies. Though there may be many things children would love to do in their idle time, such as singing, dancing, painting, exploring and so on, here is the list of top 10 things children love to do in summer vacations.

This is one thing children always wait for- relaxation and leisure. Throughout the normal routine they are made to go to school study and do their home task, play sometimes only when they have finished their assignments and on days when fate frowns on them, they have the pressure of examinations. But summer vacations are like that cool, soothing breeze in the summer afternoon of June. Children get all the time for themselves to relax and even waste the way they want. They can ogle at the television, watch their favorite shows and gobble up whatever they want to eat!

9. OVER-SLEEPING

What would a child not give up to get those few extra minutes of sleep on the weary Monday morning of the working week! Well, holidays come to their rescue. They can sleep for as long as they want and for much later than they could even dream of on school days. It is the tine without restrictions and they love to sleep late and wake up late. Especially for the first few days, they are shown lots of mercy by the elders who let them sleep comfortably, sympathizing with them for their harsh school routine!

Almost all the kids have made their plans much before the vacations actually commence. Summer-time is just perfect for any hobby be it singing, dancing, reading, writing or painting. Children are very excited to join the hobby courses during this time and learn something outside the school – something which they actually want to learn! Children go for drawing and sketching classes or for music sessions to learn guitar and piano or wish to master their dancing skills and grab a feather on the cap for a successful performance in a dance show! All children are enthusiastic and hobby courses give them the right platform.

Relatives take a backseat it the children’s minds usually during the busy working days and return to the thoughts in weekends but they truly manifest during summer vacations. Almost all kids love to spend time with their favorite relatives, staying at their place, enjoying through the day with their cousins and spending the nights awake, sharing stories and experiences. This develops a close bonding between those kith and kin who may or may not live near by and rejuvenates everyone’ schedule. The children love this so much that they long to return in the next summer vacations.

Surely, every child who has loved to go out and play must have experienced that bitterness when they are giving the best performance of their lives in a game and their mothers call out to them to come back and finish off their home works. School becomes the enemy and homework becomes a bound on their liberty. But then, summer vacations spell freedom. Just as there is no fixed time to sleep and no specific time to wake up, there is also no restricted time to play! Children can play as much as they want and for as long as they want. The best part is that they know they can return the next day and play even more for longer time. Perhaps that is why nothing can beat the excitement of summer vacations.

Holidays Homework is a headache for not just the kids but also their parents! Though innovative project work might be fun for kids to try their hand at, the monotonous mathematics exercises or long essays and note-making is actually a very tiring exercise for kids who take it as a burden on their light and cheerful vacations routine. But, how even bad the situation, more stressed than kids are their parents. After all, it is mostly the elders who end up doing the stuff out of anxiety. And, mind you the kids are really smart! They know it that if they successfully postpone doing their work, the elders are bound to do it for them any way! So, they act like perfect managers and allocate work intelligently among elder siblings, parents and if necessary, some fast friend who readily does it in exchange for a bey blade, rock star fan card  collection or favorite video CD.

They love to go for explorations and expeditions to check out all strange places. It is not just a means of adventure for the kids but also a way for them to get hands-on experience to find and try new places and new things with friends. The Enid Blyton has very well inspired kids for decades who love  to play Secret Seven and Famous Five, become detective and feel empowered with bright minds! Moreover, kids also love to spend time at home, learning new things from their siblings or parents. While their grandam could teach  them knitting and mother could make them good at cooking, an enthusiastic elder brother or sister could teaching them new tricks of a video game or  the latest computer games. Summer vacations, then, seem the right time to lean and discover new things and innovate ways to spend time doing something constructive.
